What is a wireframe

What is a wireframe?

A wireframe is a low-detailed representation of a design. A wireframe should clearly show:

  • The main content groups - What?
  • The information structure - Where?
  • A description of user interaction with the interface and its approximate visualization - How?

What is a wireframe used for?

Wireframes are usually used for project documentation. Since they show the user’s interaction with the interface in individual static moments, they should be accompanied by text comments: both short explanations and complex technical documentation, if necessary.

Where can wireframes be created?

Here are some free tools that can simplify the process of creating a wireframe for your project:

  • Wireframe.cc
  • Mockingbird
  • Moqups
  • Cacoo
  • Flairbuilder
